Description:

Superior National Forest is one of the largest protected forests in the nation, covering nearly four million acres, including 440,000 acres in the form of lakes. Not surprisingly, it features outdoor opportunities of all different varieties, from climbing and camping in the Sawtooth Mountains to fishing and swimming in the Great Lakes. Superior National Forest occupies over 6,000 square miles in the heart of the state, Duluth being the site of its headquarters.
